Land of Compassion Buddha (Singapore) was founded in 2002 by the disciples of Khensur Rinpoche Lobsang Tsephel. Lacking our own center, we had to rent outside venues for Rinpoche's yearly teaching program. Although resources were limited, Rinpoche always travelled tirelessly among different venues to give teachings to the public.
Over the years in Singapore, Khensur Rinpoche has taught The Condensed Meaning of the Graded Path, Engaging in the Bodhisattva Deeds, Praise of Dependent Arising, etc. The initiations that he has conferred include Thousand-arm Avalokiteshvara, 21 Taras, Medicine Buddha, Yamantaka, Guhyasamaja, etc. Rinpoche has also personally led many retreats on nyung-ney and Confessions to the 35 Buddhas.
In 2009, with Khensur Rinpoche's blessing and the support of many donors, we finally rented a place which has been serving as our center until now. This has temporarily solved the issue of renting outside venues. Furthermore, we are able to hold regular sessions of group practice and Dharma discussion. Through the process, the students deeply understand that practicing with joyous effort is the best offering to our precious teacher.
As our current rented center has limited space, it cannot hold more than 100 persons for events such as teaching, initiation or retreat. We also do not have stay-in facility for retreatants. Due to various restrictions, Khensur Rinpoche is not able to send a geshe to be our resident teacher.
By buying a permanent and more spacious center, we will be able to fulfil Rinpoche's wish to send a resident teacher who can conduct regular Dharma classes. Not only will this fulfil the earnest wish of the students who want to learn more Dharma, it will also be a gateway for more newcomers.
Besides having sufficient space for events such as teaching and initiation, we will also be able to conduct more retreats such as nyung-ney, giving the students an opportunity to put what they have learned into actual practice.
We hope that everyone will help fulfil this wish of Khensur Rinpoche. If you would like to find out more details and how to donate, please contact:
